Hey Y'all!
It feels good to be a missionary again! I am so excited to be here in San Antonio in Mission Creek, teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The ward here is really awesome! There is a massive multi-branch military base here which contributes about 60 percent of the active members in the ward. The ward has a lot of young families and small kids, which add a lot of life and color. Our area also includes the military branch on base for the members in training who are unable to leave the base. Turns out the branch is a great missionary opportunity because the soldiers are required to come in pairs, so they often bring non-member friends! My companion is Elder Larsen from Spanish Fork Utah. He is a hard worker with immense enthusiasm for the work. He's been showing me the ropes for using the cell phones effectively and serving in the United States. He's scheduled to leave on the 17th of June for his originally assigned mission in Panama, so I'm scrambling to prepare to take over the area. I'm really excited to work with him!
One of our friends came to church yesterday. He was really impressed in Sunday School by the lesson on Temples. When I offered to do a video tour of the temple with him, he turned to me and said "That's nice, but I think I'm going to go in person."💪 After church he told us that he felt that the lesson was made specifically for him. We are super excited for his progress!
Anyways, I love y'all and hope you have a great week!
With Love,
Elder Watts
