Changes already

Hey everybody,

I feel like I just got here and I've already completed a change. I guess that's how time goes in the mission. Our house is staying pretty much the same, although we are trading our district leader Elder Nicoli for Elder Doyle from Bend Oregon. In Lezica, the work goes on unchanged and I'm grateful for another 7 weeks to work with Elder Musick. I feel like I still have much to learn from him and I hope we can work hard to help this area grow.

Every time I think it's finally starting to get warm again winter comes back to take another stab. It rained a ton this week and this weekend was really cold. Though funny story. We contacted a man the other day and he told us he was interested and we set up a return charla. He lived in another area so we passed his name on and moved on. A few days later we get a message from those elders of that area saying that he lied about his address and he actually lives in our area. They then proceeded to inform us that they had set up a charla with him and promised that we would bring diapers. Apparently his house had flooded and he needed help cleaning it up. We laughed and brought the diapers only to find out that he had given us another fake address. Welp, I guess that´s how it goes sometimes.

Anyways I recently listened to an excellent BYU speech about ambiguity and how we need to go forward with faith. It explained that we need to face our uncertainties with courage and actually strive to find answers. Joy doesn't come from simply ignoring problems, doubts, and uncertainties but from seeking to find truth and walking through. It's hard to give an adequate summary here, but it was certainly something I needed to hear. I'll leave a link below.

I hope you all have a great week. Love you,

Elder Watts

General Conference

This email is going to be pretty short.  This week we had the privilege and blessing to listen to the prophet in general conference.  It was incredible, and I found answers to many of my questions.  I have a firm testimony that Russel M. Nelson is a prophet of God and that the Lord is hastening his work in these last days.  I was especially impressed by Elder Bednar´s talk in which he compared satan to cheetahs.  His brief talk helped me to better understand the role of prophets and how we need to keep moving to avoid being overtaken by the adversary.  To me it connected nicely with President Nelson´s charge to become a people prepared to meet God.

The work is going great, though there isn´t a whole lot to report.  I´m loving the mission work and the opportunity to serve God.

Love you all,

Elder Watts

P.S.  A little late, but the new Book of Mormon videos are awesome.  10/10 well worth your time.  It´s like netflix, but better because it´s spiritual.  I´m a huge fan.
